Allegiant Air to sell cannabis when flying over states that legalised it

LAS VEGAS, USA. Allegiant Air set out to redefine the meaning of the “mile high club”. The Nevada based low cost carrier shocked the industry today with an announcement that it will be supplementing on-board ancillary revenue via sales of the controlled substance cannabis.

Belinda McWellwick, Chief Customer Experience Officer, stated that sales will be limited while the aircraft is flying to, from, or over the states of Colorado and Washington, which have recently legalised the sale and consumption of the herb. “Of course passengers will be notified in advance prior to reaching ‘legal airspace’ so that they can prepare their preferred peripherals, or else buy the essentials from our on board store.”

The company said that it applied for and obtained special license from all the requisite state and federal authorities, paving the way for a roll out sometime this month.

“We are now in the last phases of cabin crew training”, continued McWellwick “as we are bringing our staff up to speed with preparing the passengers’ product quickly and with as little fuss as possible. Although most of them seemed very familiar with the process” she mused.
