European low-cost operator easyJet on Thursday announced that it will not sue US low-cost start up airline Breeze Airways, which launched operations on May 27th in the US. The move was not unexpected, as the two airlines’ logos are in no way similar apart from the American pronunciation of the stylized EZ in the Breeze logo.
“We totally have a leg to stand on,” said an easyJet spokesperson, “you Americans write EZ to mean easy, so it’s bound to create brand confusion. But you know, they’re over there, we’re over here. Live and let live, man.”
